A Humble Heart for a Holy Work

May 14, 2025    Pastor Steven Pettis Jr

This week’s Bible Study invites us to reflect deeply on the foundation of all spiritual service—humility. Using Romans 12:3 as the anchor, we’ll uncover how the Apostle Paul challenges every believer to examine their self-perception before entering into ministry. We are not called to serve from a place of pride or position, but from a posture of grace—knowing that all we are and have comes from God.

Paul’s words remind us that the church is not built by gifted individuals alone, but by those who walk humbly in their calling, understanding the measure of faith God has assigned to each. This study will challenge our church to raise the standard—not by performance, but by posture. Before we place hands to the work, we must check the condition of our hearts.

Join us as we discuss what it means to be a people who are low to the ground, grounded in grace, and equipped for holy work through the Spirit.
