Walk - The Proof of Healing

Sep 28, 2025    Pastor Steven Pettis Jr

At Bethesda’s pool, Jesus meets a man stuck for thirty-eight years and speaks and says, “Get up, pick up your pallet, and walk.” That’s not a lap around the pool; it’s a life under the Lord. When Jesus heals, He commands a new walk; walking becomes both the proof and the pathway of the new life He gives.

“Get up” reveals the ability granted by Christ. “Pick up your pallet” gives testimony and purpose. “Walk” displays proof, direction, and a new way of life. This message calls us beyond Sunday seats to weekday steps on our blocks, in our homes, at work, and in our church family. Your walk tells the story your mouth can’t finish.

In this sermon we’ll learn what it means to walk in obedience (John 5:14), to walk by the Spirit so we “will not carry out the desire of the flesh” (Galatians 5:16), and to walk with purpose—“be careful how you walk…understand what the will of the Lord is” (Ephesians 5:15–17).

Jesus didn’t just make you feel better; He made you new, and He orders your steps.
