14 Day Fast: Letting Go: Day 8: Don’t Just Fast—Fight for One Another

Dear Church Family,

Today marks Day 8 of our fast, and we are so thankful for how God is continuing to speak, convict, and strengthen us.

As you reflect and pray today, we invite you to watch the devotional video from Sis. Cassie, our faithful Women’s Director. Her words will encourage you to keep pressing forward as we journey together in letting go of anything that hinders the unity of the body of Christ.

By now, we’ve seen just how dangerous division can be in the church. But praise God—He never leaves us without a way to resist! In Ephesians 6, the Apostle Paul reminds us to “stand firm” not in our own strength, but in the strength of the Lord, putting on the full armor of God. Why? Because our battle isn’t against people—it’s against unseen spiritual forces.

Satan wants to wear us down, confuse us, and ultimately destroy the unity of the church, but we are not ignorant of his schemes. This Saturday, I want you to walk in the authority God has given you.

Let’s make this our cry for the rest of the fast:

We are not fighting each other—we are fighting FOR one another.

Don’t just fast—fight.
Fight with prayer.
Fight with truth.
Fight for peace, for love, and for unity in the body.

Watch today’s devotional and let’s walk forward together, armored up and focused on the real enemy.

With love and strength,
Pastor Steven Pettis Jr
Lead Pastor, Christ Bible Church
