40 Day Daniel Fast Day 40

1 Peter 2:24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed.

Hey, did you know some immunodeficiency conditions could slow down the healing process in our natural bodies? You can visit a doctor to get care for a wound, get treated, and although the wound has been treated, there is still a process to healing. Because of the chronic conditions of the immunodeficiency, one being diabetes, although it doesn't stop the healing process, it does slow it down. Do you know what that is for us spiritually? SIN!

Notice what Peter says here; he says in the b part of this verse, "By His (that's Christ) wounds you (we) have been healed". Now, that's to every believer who follows Christ. Notice in this one word we see both terms used. The word healed is translated to mean cure and heal, to be made whole. I know some of you are saying I am already aware of my salvation; sure, you are aware, but what is the cause of your struggle? What is the battle with anxiety? What is the struggle with marriage? If you are aware of this cure, why are you still needing healing? You see, we still have sin to deal with; it's our chronic condition, Jesus is the cure for our sin, but our bodies are compromised. As we depart from this, Daniel fast, remember this, you have been cured of these issues; Jesus bore our sins in his body, and he was wounded for us to be cured and healed!
